RAILWAY CONCESSIONS.
TO INVALID SOLDIEKS. FKEE PASSES FOE PEKMANENTLV DISABLED. Wellington, Last .Night. As the result or representations made by the New Zealand Returned Soldiers' Association the Railway Department has granted liberal concessions to returned soldier pensioners. All fuil, permanent N.Z.E.F. war pensioners, namely, men receiving permanent war pension of £2 per week and upwards are now entitled to receive upon applieatioE through the Keturned Soldiers-' Association, a free iirst-elas-u railway pass. All permanent X.Z.&.F. war pensioners receiving over 50 per cent, permanent pension, whose disabilities affect their locomotion, are now entities to receive upon application through the Returned Soldiers' Association a rail permit whereby they-may travel first-class at second-class rates. Blind es-N.Z.E.F. soldier* come under the first heading, but in addition they receive the privilege of free first-class travelling for an attendant. All these passes are for life, but are renewable every twelve month-.. When being used they must be supported by a war pensions certificate. They are only available to permanent pensioners, and any abuse of these privileges will cause the concession to be withdrawn from those rising them.
