POWER BOARD MATERIAL

FIRST SHIPMENT OF POLES ARRIVE. The first shipment of hardwood poles for the Horowhenua Power Board's transmission lines for the reticulation of this district has just arrived from Australia. The poles, which ait; of a very good class, have been sent ou to Shannon, and will be used on the lines in that part of the district. The next consignment is due in about a month's time. Mi Overton, the Board's Engineer, stated yesterday that the scheme for the erection of all the transmission lines will be in full swing in about two mouth.- from now. Preliminary preparations were well advanced, and quantities of electricy-l materia! had already arrived from the Old Country.
