TE HORO.

* FAREWELL AND PRESENTATION. Mr G. W. Kirk and Miss Kirk, who shortly leave to take up residence in the South Island, were entertained at Te Horo last night, when there was a splendid attendance. The arraugeliients were very complete and every- • thing passed off splendidly. During the evening Mr Evelyn Macdonald e.\.ended the best wishes of the community to Mr and Miss Kirk, and said he was pleased Mr Kirk was to receive welldeserved promotion. The Rev. Koall also spoke eulogistically and’ wished Mr and Miss Kirk God-speed, and trusted they would make as many friends in the South as they had done at Te Horo. The Rev. gentleman then asked Miss Kirk’s acceptance of a fine hair-brush and mirror and Mr Kirk to accept a cheque. In doing so he expressed a wish that both the recipients would look back with pleasure to their stay at Te Horo and remember the many friends they were leaving behind. Mr Kirk suitably replied. .

During the evening supper was served and enjoyed. The following programme was submitted, Mrs McNeilly playing the accompaniments: —Duet, Misses Muir and I Gawler; song, Mr L. G. Lowry (encore); song, Miss May Lukasliefski; recitation, Miss Yulian, “Just Like A Man” (encore); song, Miss Niclioll; trio, Misses Lander, Gawler and Windlev; song, Mrs F. G.
