Mr W. H. Bowden has in hand Tentfly, by Rangiotu Camp—Salada mare. The owner is Mr R. Flutey. The horse hill be seen sporting colours at Foxton. Messrs Dug. Webster and Fred Edwards, who have been attending the South Island meetings, have returned to Otaki.
CARELESS JOCKEYS. London, December 15. fne jockeys riding the, only r.vo' ■ i unners in a three-mile steeplechase at. Hurst Park took the wrong turning when at the end of two miles. Both rode hard to the finish, passed the winning post, pulied ud, and entered the paddock. The' loud shouts of the astonished crowd had no effect, but "VentUftHy the jockeys were made to realise their rnistpke, when they rode out behind the stand, reappeared on the track, and completed the course, the favourite winning. The incident did nos end there, for the- stewards took a hand and lined the jockeys £5 each for cagel-essness.
