Pro. dillgi opened with the toast of the King, atter which the health of "Our Guest" was drunk with musical honours. In proposing tie- toast Mr Kemsley -tided that the Sports Club was losing one of is main supports in Mr Kodgers, 11" had taken an active part in the formation of the Club, and had been a tower of strength to the Club in all its undertaking*. Although he would nut he able to take such an active pari now that he had left Waikanac, the Club had no hesitation in electing liim president for a further term, and also electing him a life member of the Club. Mr Kodgers. in replying, thanked member* for the honour they had paid hint that evening. He was always pleased to do what: he could for the Club, but wan not going to take credit for the lot. He thought other members had done mun than he had. but, nevertheless he «as pleased that what little he had '>'-'' was appreciated. During the e\ tiring Mr T. Parata rose, and in a u*ai ' = presented to Mr Kodgers, on behalf ol the Sports Club, a handsome china salad-bowl and service plates, as a token of esteem in which Mr Rodger* was held. Mr Kodgers suitably respondedVocal item- were rendered by Me«sr« L. Brown, Cooper, B. Enoka, P. Thomas and W. Morgan, while Mr B. Enc ka presided at the piano. The evening passed very pleasantly, and all preset enjoyed themselves, thoroughly.
