Mr and Airs L. Blundell, of Wellington, Miss Oram, of Palmerston North, turd Mr and Mrs Jay. of I’etone. are among the visitors staying at the Otaki kiosk. Word was received yesterday of tindeath of U-ev. K. fit. Gray, secretary and treasurer of the Baptist Union ol New Zealand and the Baptist -Missionary Sofldely.
The funeral of Mark, the veil-known Native "of Katihiku, who died last week, took place at Otaki on Friday, j when there was a representative at- j tendance. The Kev. iemueia iokoai- , tua officiated at the graveside. Mr G. W. Kirk, who has been head- | master at the Te Horo State School j since April, Hull, leaves about the mid- j die of January to take up a position, j which means promotion, at fijpringlands 1 (Blenheim). When Mr Kirk first look j up duties at Te Horo the school was of j small dimensions with only a limited j number of children. Under Mr Kirk’s guidance good progress has been made and scores of children have benefttted by his teaching, which has always been of a very high order. Air Kill, has . also been a shining light in Uhurcb j matters, and as a member of the Metho- I dist Church has done splendid work | for many years. Miss Kirk, who will . accompany her brother, has also been j of valuable assistance, and both win be greatly missed. They will carry with ; them the best wishes of a large circle of friends.
