GENERAL ELECTIONS.
MB FIELD’S MAJORITY REDUCED. Mr S. P. Eddy (Returning Officer) conducted a preliminary count of votes on Saturday and found that the Pahautanui returns had been incorrectly telegraphed, sixty being put in place of fifty, which reduces Mr Field’s wajori- 1 ty of-ffi) to 50. Another error disclos- | ed the fact that Mr McClure had been credited with one at Ngahauranga that should have- been placed to tlio credit • of Mr Field. The latter’s majority has therefore been reduced by nine. The scrutiny.of the roll and official count takes place at 9 a.m. on Wednesday. ' ~ | POSITION IN DOUBTFUL ! CONSTITUENCIES.
