CHARGES OF THEFT.
A FOURTEEN-YEAR-OLD LAD APPREHENDED. During the past few days petty thefts have occurred in this district, and Constable Sathcrley has lost no time in running the offenders tp earth. Besides arresting a young man for the theft of articles from a wedding feast, ho was the means of apprehending a 14-year-old lad, who escaped from the Weraroa Training Farm, and who had committed a number of thefts. The lad on .Saturday appeared before Messrs Frank Bennett and H. Nicolson, J’s.P., and pleaded guilty to stealing boots and clothes, the property of Messrs AV. Coleman and G. Turk, of Raugiuru, and a watch and money, the property of Mr H. Hosie, of Paraparaumu. The constable on Friday evening journeyed to Paraparaumu, and in record time secured a clue, followed the .lad towards Paekakariki, and took him in charge early in the evening. The lad was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence when called upon. The Constable has received information of a theft from Mr Kirk's residence at Paraparaumu.
