PERSONAL.
The Rev. and Mrs Cook, of Palmerston North, intend building at the Otaki bench and reside there for a few months. The funeral of the late Mr James Mclntyre, for thirty years headmaster of the Lee in school, took place on Wednesday, the cortege leaving the residence of the deceased’s brother, Mr Thomas Mclntyre, at Lower Hutt. for the Karori cemetery. The chief mourners were the sons of the deceased, and his brothers, Messrs T. and R. Mclntyre. The Rev. A. W. 11. Compton, of Brooklyn, presided at the graveside, and after the Anglican service was over the beautiful Masonic service was read by Messrs Roe, Lancaster, and McIntosh (of deceased’s own lodge), and G. Russell, of Wellington. Those present included several members of the Masonic and Druids’ lodges at Levin, and Mr W. 11. Field, M.P. The Levin School Committee and staff, the pupils of the primary mid technical schools at Levin, and the members of the Levin Club forwarded wreaths, as a mark of esteem and respect to the deceased.
