PROPOSAL TO BB CONSIDERED. At u meeting oi the Oiaki Borough Council this morning Ur. Iviisby suggested that the building scheme should be carried out. The estimated cost., he said, was £1101)0, but lie believed tln» could be cut down to £7OOO, and as the result of the erection ol' suitable buildings revenue coaid be secured from rent, etc. Mayor said the Council hud not data before them of estimated receipt and expenditure, but a committee might be set up to consider the question. Ur. Bills said he was doubtful ii money could he secured foi the proposal. The Mayo.r said much depended on the proposals put before the ratepayers.
