TO BE RETURNED. At a meeting of the Oiaki Borough Council this morning a letter was read from the Palmerston A'. Hospital Dean! relative to the ambulance, raised by money contributed by children of Otaki and district, agreeing- to hand it O'er. The Mayor stated there was 'cry little demand for such lonics; it was big and cumbersome, but, nevertheless, Otaki was entitled to it. Lt would also be expensive to run. but might be advertised for sale. Or. Cockrell considered it would be wise lo send a man te Palmerston to inspect the ambulance before taking ii over, it may be. he said, in bad urdei and require a deal ol money to be expended on it. I The Mayor said ke understood that i the Palmerston body had already spent £SO on it. Ur. Taylor considered it would be a good idea to send a man up to get him to have a run round in the ambulance. This would give an idea, if its condition , it was decided that Ur. Taylor make ! the trip and inspect.
