BLUE TRIANGLE COMMUNITY CLUB.
The opening-of the Girls’ Club list Thursday evening was a most succsasful function, the 01.C.A. room being too small for the occasion. The president and members of the Y.M.C.A. were present, also Mr Gilbert, secretary for Y.M.C.A. in .Levin. The evening’s entertainment commenced with games—twos and throes, and nautical ehaira —in which all joined with wholehearted mirth. As there was no piano, the accompaniments for the latter was played with great vim od a benzine tin! Later in the evening a small play entitled “Between two stools one is sure to fall to the ground,” was given by members of the Amateur Dramatic Club. The performers were Miss Joan Lowry (who took the part of the principal girl), Miss Leah Cole, Miss Erica Neilson, Miss Olive Kershaw, Mr Tom Tate (principal boy), and Mr Herny Parata- It was a most excellent performance, all the actors entering ao thoroughly into their parts, and was so much appreciated by the audience that it had to be repeated. Great credit is due to Mrs Sargisson for the way in which she had coached those taking part. The Club is most fortunate in having such a gifted teacher, and it is hoped that all members of the Dramatic Club will make the most of their opportunities. Judging from last Thursday’s performance it is evident that there is excellent material in Otaki for making really good amateur actors in the fu‘•’sre.
