Saturday was the closing of the sea son as far as the Otaki Club was concerned and after afternoon tea had been d,spoused Mr Witchell, on behalf of the members, referred to this fact and congratulated the ladies on their successful season and the able manner of had maDe " od the affairs of the Club. The play of members, he said, had improved, and it was pleas mg to note that during the seasoa they had won the Pollock stars. Thcv however, had last, them again, but al' though defeated they were not disgraced. M r Witchell then present«d trophies won during the season w follows.- Doubles:Mrs Cook and Mis, Baker 1, Mrs OUiver and Miss White man 1; open competition, Mrs Wilson ’ Mr . s Atk;nson 2; “B” players, Mr, Bramley 1, Mrs Olliver 2; sudden doati competition, Mrs Atkinson 1, Mrs No „ competition for married ladie, Mrs Bramley; competition for single r-iris, Miss Whiteman 1, Miss Baker » Mrs Witchell, who has always takes a keen interest in the Club, stated sh s had been asked by members to expre,, appreciation of tho good work done bj Urs Wilson as secretary, and to Mn who has ably assisted duriJ Mrs Wilson’s absence. Mrs Witchell then express appreciation at the good work done br bowlors to the green. Tho help was an preciated and members were grateful. Furthor competitions were held v. follows:—-Hoops: Mrs Witchell 1, Min Baker 2; Breaks: Mrs Noble I, Mn Evans 2; Hitting stick: Mrs Nat Williams 1, Mrs Wilson 2. The priw wore donated by Mr Whiteman, ani the Club extends its thanks for his generosity.
