COMMITTEE MEETING.
The Committee met afterwords, when Mr Williams was appointed chairman of Committee. A general discussion look place as to appointment of organiser ami scoreturv. It was finally decided to appoint Mr' Rae Crichton. . The Committee recognised that only a person with a large amount of time could nil this position. The details of the scheme were now to be considered bv ilr Crichton, who will report to the Committee next Wednesday, February Bth. The Renoiat suggestions were, that several queens should be up pointed, each queen to hare a ic.pie.cu tative who would work specially tor that queen in securing the largest number of votes. The qujien whose committee raised the largest amounl of monev would consequently have the greatest number of votes, and would be xtulv crowned at a coronation ceremony -, t a later date (not yet decided upon). The Other queens would, be given posts of honour, such ns ladies-m-waitmg, etc. The crowning' ceremony would in all probability be conducted in Brights theatre, but the' committee were arranging for a sort of Gala bn, starting with a procession at about JO.3U a.in. from the Post Office to racecourse. when outdoor games and onto tainments would-be carried out. fie Committee intended to cater for tastes of ali people on that daj, s" dint '- 1 good weather the day ought to be a memorable one for Otuki. In the evening it was proposed to have a torch light procession prior to the crowning ceremonies. The programme for the evening would be parentertaining, and do honour to q’aeen and ladies-in-wait-ing.
