Mr C. King, of the Otaki Post Offieo staff, has returned from his annual holiday. Messrs Lloyd Knox, of Martinborough, and H. Webby, lor sota*: time on the staff of the Host Office at Otaki, are at present spending their holidays here. The death of Mrs Andrew Beid. formerly a Miss Cruickshank. of the Cpper Hutt, took place at the residence of her sister, Mrs C. S. Rawson, Marton. Mrs Reid was born at the Upper Hutt :n 1802, and is survived by Ihree sons — Messrs Gordon, Walter, and Stuart Reid —and eleven grandchildren. The death occurred last night at Moutere hospital of Master Donald Clunie, the 12-year-old son of Mr and Mrs W. M. Clunie, of Paraparaurau, The little fellow was admitted to the institution a week ago and operated on for appendicitis, but despite the best of medical skill and attention passed away. Much sympathy is expressed f»r the bereaved parents.
