OBITUARY.

MRS A. F. CLARKE. We regret to record the death of Mrs A. F. Clarke, which occurred suddenly at Dargaville on Tuesday morning, after a very- brief illness. Deceased, who was very well-known in this district and highly respected, was the only daughter of the lafo Mr Robert Cobb, and Mrs Cobb, of Otaki. She was born in Palmerston N., but about 14 years ago took up residence with her parents at Otaki, where she became

very popular, and during the war period worked most energetically, doing excellent work, more especially for (he Red Cross. During the epidemic she also worked splendidly, and her many acts of kindness, were fully appreciated. The late Mrs Clarke was married in Otaki prior to Mr Clarke’s departure for the front, and on his return they bought a farm at Ohau, afterwards selling out to go farming at Dargaville with relatives, the Messrs Davidson brothers. For the past year they have resided in Dargaville, and it was only on Monday night last that Mrs Clarke became ill, and despite skilled attention passed away. The deceased had a fine disposition, was kind-hearted, and generally beloved, therefore will be greatly missed by many friends, while much sympathy is extended to the bereaved husband, mother (who is at present in Dargaville), brother, and other'relatives. The funeral took place at Dargaville on Wednesday. when an impressivo ceremony was conducted at the graveside.
