CROQUET.

A moonlight, croquet tournament was held last, night on the Otaki lawn when there was a fair muster of play-

ers. Keen interest was evinced, and matches were keenly contested. Mrs Olliver and Mrs Davies played a drawn game for the first prize, and in the draw the latter won, while Mrs Biddells secured the consolation. Air E. Whiteman and Air H. 11. Olliver played off for the men’s trophy, the former eventually winning. Air Highet and Air •Siddells contested the "booby," the former proving the winner. Credit for the success of the affair is largely due to Mrs Davies'(secretary), AHs Olliver and other members, while thanks of the Club are due to those who provided lights, etc., and to Air Olliver for the labor in erecting wires for lighting, etc. Another tournament will be held at an early date.
