THE FLOWER SHOW.

On Monday night last the committee oi the Horowhenua Horticultural and Industrial Society met at the Readingroom to make arrangements fur the forthcoming Spring Show, to be held or. Friday of next week. 10th inst. There were present:—Mr 11. Witchell (president), Mesdanros Fox and Hodgson, Misses Baker and Penn, Messrs A. W. Broadway, 11. Small, A. Wilson, Frank Penn, and S. Norgrove (secretary). The secretary reported that all of the judges appointed, with the exception of one, had signified their willingness to act. A request had been sent for a definite answer from one genii' - man. who had not replied to invitation to judge. It was reported that arrangements hud been made for twenty folding trestles to be made in readiness for the Spring Show. This matter had beet’ left in the hands of the seeretar . whose action was endorsed.

The following class; stewards were duly appointed:—l’bt plants and cut blooms. Messrs H. Small, Wilson and Cockrell; fruit and vegetables, Messrs Broadway and D. Noble: decorations. Mrs Fox and Mr Penn; schoohvork, Rev. Petrie and Miss Crellin; needlework, Misses Bradc-y and Penn; domestic and miscellaneous. Miss Norgrove and Mr Kilinister. It was decided to request the Otaki Brass Band to kindly supply music at the show. Various matters of detail in connection with the show were discussed and arranged for.
