Both the racing and training tracks at Weraroa are in first-rate condition, and it is doubtful if they were ever better. The club and caretaker deserve credit for the satisfaeory state of the course. The new stand at Levin is receiving ! the finishing touches, and with the ether recent improvements make the j course right up to date in its appoint- , ments. The club’s totalisator has been ! placed in position, and generally things are in good shape for the meeting on the 17th. The nominations received for tile Horowhenua races were a record for the club, and if Eandieapper Coyle meets with his usual success in making the adjustments the acceptances should provide another record. Lady Energy, which is nominated for the Horowhenua" Cup. arrived in Levin during the week. Trainer ..Oxenham has ius team in shape for the Levin meeting. Parewanui is training on well, and though ae has an ugly leg, is standing up to his work like a tradesman.
