Miss Bushnell, daughter of Mr and Mrs H. J. Bushnell, died at her parents’ residence, Gisborne, last week, aged 25 years. Miss Bushnell was for some time an inmate of the Otaki Sanatorium.

Mr Clarence Pole, son of Mr and Mrs J. S. Pole, of Otaki, arrived at Auckland with his flying machine on Monday last. He was met there by his father, and the two are expected to arrive at Otaki on Friday next. Mr Clarence Pole had a lengthy and honourable career through the great war. He went to Egypt, from Australia, with the second Australian ConI tingent (Light Horse). Afterwards he joined the aerial force, and saw much active service in many campaigns and in many lands. As a result of injuries received he lost his voice, and lor a 1 long time after lus return to Australia was under medical attention. Me are glad to say that he has made splendid ; progress towards recovery. ft is now some seven years since he was at his 1 home at Otaki. and lie will lie warmly welcomed buck here.
