“THE LAND WE LIVE IN.’” A CHILDREN'S PROGRAMME. To-morrow night’s picture programme at Otaki is one that should attract a big audience of children, especially as the school children are just now enjoying- their holidays. The star picture is a remarkably line New Zealand scenic eductional picture, entitled “The Laud We Live lu.” It. gives pictures of a comprehensive tour of New Zealand, from North Cape to the Bluff, and includes pictures of the Niagara of New Zealand, the Wanganui liver, the Cold Lakes, Otira and Bullet Gorges, the wonders of Rotoruu, Mi. Egmont, Sunny Nelson, and many other interesting and beautiful spots. These pictures have been specially taken with the express purpose of educating the children of New Zealand, and thus making them acquainted with their own laud. We draw attention to the following testimonials, which are only a few of many received: — His Worship the Mayor of Wailington, J. P. Luke. C.M.G., M.P., said: “The Lund Wc Live In” is the best picture 1 have ever seen.” “Papanui School, Christchurch. I consider the picture, “The Land We Live In,” an excellent production, well calculated to instil into the minds of those privileged to sec it a love of their own country, aud 1 am satisfied that my pupils have now a clearer conception of ils beauties and possibilities, in place of the hazy impression they held previously. The picture has materially helped them iu their geography of Now Zealand.” A Brooklyn (Wellington) head master slates: “Children from Standard 111. upwards should be given an opportunity to see ‘The Land We Live In.’ as T fee! sum that it would form a very line foundation for an accurate knowledge of the industries, the tourist Tcsorts, and generally the beauty of New Zea la ml. ’ ’ In addition to this fine picture tiiere will be screened a Charlie Chaplin film, together with the usual serial, making a specially attractive programme that should draw a full house to-morrow night. A new and novel entertainment, starring Nutt Hanley (late of Fullers’), will be given at Otaki on Friday night. The show will combine pictures with vaudeville, and as the artists are of high standing there should be n large audience. Among the attractions will be the Maori jazz.
