METEOROLOGICAL.
The total rainfall in Otaki for .July was 2.37iu. Practically the whole of this fell in the first half of the mouth. There were pi days with ruin, the, heaviest fall being .85in on the 15th. in th«: corresponding month of last year 1.0,mi fell. The average of Julv rainfall for the last 10 years was 4.07 inches. The latter part of the month just past was characterised by a series of bright, sunny days, and cold frosty nights. For eight days not a cloud wan registered. Wellington’s rainfall for July was -■ >-'iu. and at Plimmerton it was 2.08.
