[ j Mrs Thompson (Eketnhuna). mother t : °f Mrs Albert Smith, is at present ou f holiday iu Otaki. i- Miss Miller has resumed her duties at the Otaki State school, after au s absence of considerably over a year, , | during which time Miss Miller spent , art enjoyable holiday iu the Uhl Coun- | t ry. i Mr and Mr; Ralph Askew, who have . been residents of Manakau and Otaki 1 tor some years past, left yesterday for i AVhakarongn. Palmerston North, where 1 Mr Askew has secured a small holding. They carry with them the best wishes of a wide circle of friends. • Before leaving Otaki, Mr R. ,T. , J Dando (manager of the local branch of the Bank of Australasia) was entertained by members of the Otaki Club, who presented him with a very tine silver-mounted umbrella, suitably inscribed. The presentation was made bv Air T. O’Rourke, who referred to Mr Dando’s many estimable qualities, ami expressed the regret felt by all members of the club at his departure. Mr Dando suitably responded.
