j ! * Otaki juniors proved veritable mudlarks at Levin on Saturday, and easily accounted for ICoputaroa, who for the first half-hour considered they had the (game 1 won. Play for the greater portion of the first half was with the ■ northerners, but after this there was, in sporting parlance, “no race," and i Otaki won easily, 16—0. Mr J. O'Con--1 nor was referee. In the rep. match played at Palmerston North on Saturday between Horowhenua and Manawatu the former were beaten, 3—o. One of the most important fixtures in the annals of Rugby in the Manawatu is to be played oil the Show Grounds on Wednesday afternoon next, when the All Blacks will try conclusions with a combined team representative of Wanganui, Horowhenua, and Manawatu.
