LEVIN HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.

There was a good attendance at the annual 'netting of the Levin Horticultural Society, held ou 1 riday night last. The balance-sheet nhowed the receipt, to have been £142, including donations £-12, member*' subscriptions £2O 103, door takings £29 ITs. The expenses totalled £lOl, of which £l3 was paid in prize money, 'there was thus a profit of £-11 on the year's working. The following ofheer.i wewre elected: Patron, Mr W. H. field, M.P. The secretary was authorised to fix dales and make final arrangements for several papers <o be read ou horticultural subjects during the next few weeks. Discussion took place as to whether a spring bulb .-how should lie held, and eventually fiie Rev. Grove gave notice of motion "That two -hows be held, a summer and an autumn fixture, the matter to be decided at the first horticultural evening.' - —"Chronicle."
