FOOTBALL.

OTAKI FOOTBALL CLUB. A well-attended meeting, of football enthusiasts was held at Otaki on Monday night last, Mr D. Tumi in the ehair, for the purpose of resuscitating football in our midst.

It was resolved to cntor a team for tho junior championship. Tho following officers were duly elected:—Patron, Mr C. Hawea; president, Mr Ben. Ling; vice-presidents, Messrs F. Edwards. T. B. Bax, J. D. Howell, Walters, W. H. Bowdcn, McGill, F. Ishcrwood, P. Tahiwi, H. Wills, C. Tranter J. Palmer, jun., and L. St. George; delegates to Union, Messrs W. H. Bowden and Ross Webby; coach and selector, Mr H. Tahiwi; treasurer, Mr Sotheran; hon. secretary, Mr D. B. Wilson; captain, Mr Bothcran; vice-captain, Mr D. Tuna.

Already a good membership is assured, and though rnthor late in getting a start, the team should make a good showing in the championship matches.

The following will represent the Otaki Club in its opening match next Saturday:— Full-back, T. Baker; three-quartere, C. Enoka, D. Clark, T. Rikihana; fiveeighths. W. Enoka, Sothcran; half. .1. Fogden; wing-forward. D. Wilson; forwards, T. Webby. Marino. D. Roiri, P. Ferguson, D. Grant. Arapata, W. Retter. Emergencies: Backs. W. Bowden, E. Cook, Devonshire; forwards, W. Gordon. C. King, B. King. Position Of teams subject to alteration.

The following players have been classified as seniors:—

Foxton, Moses. Taylor. Baker. Robinson and Thomson; Shannon, L. Backman, Satherley. Turau. Mira and Oliver; Waikanae, C. Torter. Messrs H. Karanti and T. Pa rats have been appointed senior referee?.

The Kuku team visited Tokomaru OB Saturday, and won au evcnlyconteattd match by 8 points to 6.

Shannon and Foxton team? met at Shannon, when the home team won by 14 point? to nil. However. FosfOß has a lot of likely player.-', and their team will make a better showing later on. doubtless.

Wanderers' juniors defeated Kopa torca by 11 points to 6.
