£ THE FIELD SHIELD.
j ANOTHER HATJTERE WIN. J On Saturday, tho 15th inafc., the Wharoroa Rifle Club and the Hantere Club met in their final for the Field Shield, when Hautero won the match by 3i points. Tho shooting was only fair, the wind being rather variable, but the gathering was enjoyed by both sides. Tho ladies were again to the fore with refreshments, which are always appreciated by the riflemen. The top scorer for tho day was Rifleman A. L. Lumsdeu with 0(5, which was a good performance. j
Hautero now holds the cup and tho shield for the year. Following are the scores: —
On Saturday next shooting for Joseph Nathan and Co.'s trophies will be continued at 500 yards, when a full muster of riflemen is requested.
