The following programme was earner, out very satisfactorily: - Pianoforte duet Mesdames Nation and E‘ lsb . v; several anthems, the party; song. “There’s a band,” and traye sketches. .Mr T. G. Vincent; sougs (-). Mrs Nation; vocal duets. “Somewhere a Voice is Calling” and “ben of Glass » Mcsdames KtUby and Sawtcll; songs'. “Wren All is btill” and “In Mellow Auuunntide.” Miss Walker i song. “A Bowl of Roses,” Mrs K.lshy; vocal duet. “The Battle Eve.” Messrs Franklin and Vincent. Mrs Nation and Mrs Kilsbv supplied the siceompantincuts in good style. Several of the items were encored, while all were well received. During the evening Mr G. 'V. Kirk read the annual report in connection with the Te Horo Methodist Church Trust affairs, showing a very satisfactory state of things existed. Mr Kirk also made an appeal to those present to support the'church, and urged that the nation owed a very great deal to the church. Which was entitled to the hearty support of all. At the close of the programme, on the moTioii of the chairman (Rev. AV G blade.*M.A.}. a hearty vote of thanks wtfs accorded the performers, and supper was then served to all. FARMERS' UNIONThe annual meeting of the Te Horo branch of the N.Z. Farmers’ Union was held recently in the Public Hall. Je Horo. when there was a good attendance of members. Mr Evelyn McDonald occupied the chair. The balance-sheet was read and adopted.
The election of officers was tnen held, and the results are as follows: President, Mr F. Evans: vice-president. Mr C. P. Jensen: secretary and treasurer. Mr AV. S. Fatten: auditor. Air Kirk: executive commit* ee. Messrs M Evans. C. P. Jensen, AA. S. Fatten. A-. H. Catley. E. E. Gawlcr, Colson. Mr Jensen was appointed delegate to the sub-provincial conference. Nine new members were proposed. If. was decided to have another meeting at an early date to discuss the order paper for the annual meeting of the provincial executive, which is to meet on the doth and Null of May. There is a great deal of important business on the order paper. At the conclusion of the meeting Mr McDonald was accorded a hearty vote of thanks for past services.
