OTAKI PEACE MEMORIAL.
A GOOB START. Mr T. B. Bax (canvasser for the Otaki Peace Memorial) is meeting with a fair response to his appeals for the scheme. Up to this morning, Mr Bax bad received promises totalling £l'sG ISs, of which amount, the sum of £S9 ISs had actually been collected in cash. There is no doubt tbat the sum required will bo raised, but tho committee hopes that there will bo n liberal response in cash donations, so that it will not be necessary to do a great deal iu the way of special efforts.
