SPRING FLOWER SHOW.

A meeting of the committee of the Horoivhenua Horticultural and Industrial Society was held at Brights’ , Theatre supper-room on Monday night ■ last, when there were present: Mesdames Huthwaite and Kilmister, Messrs | Frank Penn (president), H. Witcbell, L. Kilmister, A. W. Broadway, H. Cockrell, and S. Norgrove (secretary). A letter was Tcad from Mrs Bussell, Wellington, re demonstrations of the art of decorating, which she had very kindly offered to give at Otaki, and suggesting dates for same. The secretary reported that he had conferred with certain officers, and had accepted October 16th and 17th (Thursday and Friday of next week) as dates for the two demonstrations. The meeting decidc'd that the demonstrations be given at Brights’ Theatre supper-room, the first (Thursday) to commence at 2 p.m., and that on Friday in the evening, to commence at 7 i o’clock. Mesdames L. Kilmister, H. Witcliell j and Miss Penn were appointed a sub- ’ committee to secure flowers and make arrangements for the demonstrations, which will be open to all interested. It was reported that there were three i vacancies on the committee, Mr Griffiths having resigned, owing to leaving the district, and other vacancies being 1 caused by the absence of Bev. Blade and a lady wishing to be relinquished from office. , Miss Crellin and Messrs A. Wilson j and W. Knight were appointed to the j vacancies. ! The judges for tho Spring Show, to , be held on November 19tli, were duly appointed, subject to their consent , being obtained.
