OTAKI (3) V. TAINUI (2). One of the most sociable, closelycontested and interesting games yet played locally was the match between the above teams on AVednesday afternoon. Although a championship match,the teams decided thul the losers should pay for a dinner, and this gave added zest to the contest, and players without exception played to save a losing fee. The game had been in progress for some time when Otaki drew first blood. Before the spell ended, however, the score was equalised. It being agreed to play on in case of a draw play became exciting, and nearly a quarter of an hour elapsed before Adsctt scored the winning goal for Otaki.
