Mr Smillie, in an interview,, stated that the Miners' Federation had decided to ask the Trades Union Congress which is to be held in September to make nationalisation the test question, involving the interests of the whole of organised labour. A Zionist leader, Dr. Weizmann. addressing the Council of English Zionist Federation, said that the Jewish situation in Europe is so bad that they must prepare for tho immigration of millions into Palestine, but that the country would only accommodate a fraction of those wishing to enter during the next Jive years.

The Prince of Wales and President Wilson have exchanged letters by airplanes competing in the New YorkToronto race. President Wilson's letters invite the Prince to visit the United States. The Prince of Wales in his letter extends greetings to the Americans.

The King and Queen of the Belgians attended, and t'ardinal Mercier officiated, at an impressive service at Dinant, to commemorate the 1911 massacres, vrhen 600 civilians were killed and 1200 houses burnt. Paris, August 25.
Proceedings alleging intelligence with the enemy have commenced against Ernest Judet, editor of "Eclair." Judet was a conspicuous figure in the Dreyfus affair. He has resided in Switzerland.
The Supreme Council has sent Rumania a Note demanding that an exact account be kept of all goods seized and requisitioned in Hungary, anil a corresponding deduction from the Rumanian indemnities will be made. London, August 24.
The Paris editor of the "New York Herald" states that the Allies will shortly announce the establishment Of the League of Nations at Brussels, reversing their previous decision in favour of Geneva.
