DTAKI BULB SHOW.

.COMMITTEE MEETING. A Aiccting of tho committee of the Ot*Ki Bulb Society was held at' the Kcading-rooni, Otaki, last, night, to make urrangements in connection with the forthcoming Bulb Show, to be held at <?taki on Wednesday* 17th September. There were present: Mr H. Witclell (vice-president, in the chair), Jlesdames Hodgson_and Swabey, Miss N. Kilsby, Rev. Petrie, Messrs W. Knight, H. Small, S. Norgrovc, and F. Penn.

Mrs T. Synnott was appointed a member of the committee to fill the vacancy caused by Mrs Reynolds' resignation. The class stewards for the show were duly appointed. It was reported that Mr Buckingham, of Lower Hutt, would act as judge of bulbs, he having accepted that position some months ago.

Mrs Swabey reported that she had arranged-to hare the usual-stalls for Melanesian curios, fancy stall, and sweets stall at the show.

Mrs Hodgson was deputed to take charge of the refreshment room. The- Chairman reported that he had seen Mr G. Anderson and arranged for renting the Town Hall for the show.

| The secretary was empowered to make the necessary arrangements for erection of tables, luncheon tor officials, printing required, c-tc. It was also decided to hire vases from the Foxton Horticultural Society, if available. A discussion ensued with respect to the sale of admission tickets for the show, and it was agreed that, while the sale of these should bo pushed, members' tickets (.2s 6d each) should also bo disposed of, as otherwise the society would have no recognised membership.

A number of other matters of detail w'ere dealt with.

It was reported that the prospects of the show wore good. In all probability several of the big growers from Lower Hutt and elsewhere would attend the show, and a big entry was anticipated from local enthusiasts.
