Foley, of the N.Z.M.R.8., from Cairo, in June. referring to tho sport of horseracing in which the boys were able to indulge in their spare time. Owing to the trouble in getting timber, through the railway restriction, it is probable that the new building will not be ready for the next meeting. When completed the building should compare favourably with that of any small club along the ’coast. The report of the Manawatu R.C. shows that the totalisator turnover for the year was £33,000 less than in the previous year. The privileges showed a decrease of £4OOO, while the stakes had been increased by £1200.. However, the actual net profit for the year was £2183.
