TARARUA TRAMPING CLUB.
The Tararua Tramping Club, recently formed in Wellington, how possesses a membership of fifty, most of whom promise to be real live members. An executive of seven' members, under the presidency of Mr W. H. Field, M.P., lias' been formed, Mr J. C. Wiffin promises to bo an energetic secretary, while Mr F. W. Vosseler, a man of considerable experience, will bo a capable guide. The club’s intentions'are to combine with tho Otaki and Wairarapa committees with a view to popularising the route over tho ranges, to equip the huts with necessary culinary articles, and so forth. The club, it is hoped, will have a successful time, and that when the season for tourists comes round it may be instrumental in inducing a great number to take advantage of tho trip, and view the scenery, which is unexcelled anywhere in New Zealand. Frequent trips arc anticipated by residents of Otaki and Wairarapa, and the excursions over the Tararuas promise to be among the most popular of outings. At present local committees are dormant, but interest will shortly be revived.
