FARMERS’ UNION.
MEETING AT TE HORO. A most enthusiastic meeting of the Te Horo branch of the Now Zealand Farmers’ Union was held on Friday night, Mr Evelyn Macdonald presiding. Tho whole of the executive decided to form themselves into an organising committee, and in this respect much interest was evinced, those present offering to work to the utmost. Mr Cooper (organiser, who has done much strenuous work) was heartily congratulated on the excellent work he had accomplished, and a wish expressed Ikat he would be equally successful in the new district (Wanganui) which he was shortly to organise. Strong comments were made anent a well-known person who had made disparaging remarks relative to the Union, and all present were loud in condemnation of his actions. The principle of the railway “cut” was upheld. It was decided not to amalgamate the branch with Otaki. as suggested. Tho Railway Department was taken to task for the way stock was carried on goods trains. It was decided to uphold patriotic sociefies who held back funds till the soldiers. It was agreed to take steps to urge upon the Government, the desirability of improving all dangerous lovel crossings, '
