MOTOR SCOOTER.
The motor scooter is apparently growing in popularity in England, where several large concerns are turning their attention to this speedy and economical mode of getting about. Briefly, the mil chino consists of a low platform, on which the rider stands or sits, carried by a couple of substantial wheels, the front steering and the rear driving. The power unit, consisting of a little horizontal single-cylinder petrol engine, is very compactly mounted almost over the rear wheel, and is controlled by two levers on the handlebars, making driving an extremely simple business. On the test the little machine as capable of negotiating any ordinary main road hill. Its speed on the level Is variable between two miles an hour, less than walking pace, and a maximum "of 15 miles an hour. The scooter is comfortable to ride, the wheels being Shod with pneumatic tyres, is very easy to manage, and requires no mechanical knowledge at all.
