In conversation with a “Mail”..-re presentative on Saturday Mr W. 11, Field, member for the district, expressed surprise at the remarks made at the Otaki Town Board’s meeting last Thursday with reference to his enquiry re the loan for electric light. Mr Field says he wrote to tho Board with the object of ascertaining where the Board had applied for the loan money, as it would be useless to apply again to the same places.
