August 20: Te Horo v. Y.M.C.A., at Te Horo; Tainui v. Excelsior, at Levin; Otaki a bve.
August 27: To Horo v. Excelsior, at Te Horo; Otaki v. Y.M.C.A., ut Levin; Tainui a b?e.
On Wednesday next one of the best matches of the season should result, and it is expected that there will be quite a number of interested spectators. The contest will be between To Horo, who hold a fine record, and Otaki, a greatly improved team. The former, generally, put a deal of “ginger” into tlicir play, and tlieir dash will stand them in good stead. On the other hand, Otaki lias some fleet-footed players, who are also hard hitters, and provided the best is made of openings in the circle should bo seen to advantage. The match is timed to start at 2.30, and it is hoped all players will be punctual.
Tainui will meet Y.M.C.A. at Levin, and provided the latter are in good fettle the game should be interesting. The Tainui team is as follows: —A. Wiuterbura, “Bub” George, B. Ferguson, P. Patching, T. Mahiiua, C. Enoka, A. Cook, J. Ropatu, K. Hakaraia, D. Dayton. L. Murray; emergencies, Kershaw, Retter, Wally Burns. Rikiliana.
