FOOTBALL.
Last night a football meeting was held at Brights’ Theatre (sample rooms) and was a successful one, about thirty attending. Mr Jacob Utiku was chairman.
It was decided to form a club, to be called the Otaki Junior Football Club, and the following officers were elected: —Patron, Mr Kupa Hawea; president, Mr J. D. Howell; vice-presidents, Messrs Dudderidgc, Geo. Tattersall, T. B. Bax, Arehio Smith, AV. H. Bowden, Tom AVells, L. St. George, Hector Nicolrou, Utiku Hapefa, S. Itansfield, A 7. Bright; delegates to the Horotvhenua Rugby Union, Rornana and Jacob Utiku; management committee, Messrs E. Batten, M. Giddens, T. Mahima, P. Taipua, AV. Bowden, Jacob Utiku; selector and c’oach, Jacob Utiku; horn secretary, Aug. Wallace; treasurer, E. Batten.
The subscription was 'fixed at 2s 6d, and resolved that the colours be black and white (hoops). The election of captain and vice-cap-tain was left over. A fair number of subscriptions were handed to the treasurer. A practice will be held to-night, and members are requested to be at Edwards’ Corner by 7.45 p.m. The following will represent Otaki against Levin-Wanderers at Levin tomorrow:—P. Taipaa, A.
