DISTRICT NURSES
V At a public meeting held at Para- ; paraunm recently it was decided to endeavour to secure a district nurse for | the Paraparaumu district, and applicnfiou has been made to the Wellington Hospital Board to make the appoint- t ment as soon as possible. A local com- j mittec was set up at Paraparaumu, the , following being elected by ballot, viz.: j Mrs W. J. Howell, Messrs E. O. Mac- | le-Jh (chairman). E. Clarke. W. Cromb, ' and i. 1.. Howell, with Mrs Hadfield hon. secretary and Mrs Williams hon. treasurer. Nurses are very scarce just i now. but it is hoped that Paraparaumu ■ will secure one ere long, as the services of a nurse would be a great boon to the district. The residents of. the district arc to be congratulated on their energy and enthusiasm in connection with the movement. A public meeting is to be held at Waikanae this week to consider the matter of the appointment of a district nurse for the Waikanae and Rikiorangi districj.
