MONTHLY MEETING. A meeting of the Palmerston North Hospital and Charitable Aid Board was held yesterday. Present: Sir James Wilson (chairman), Messrs J. A. Nash, M.P., W. Bramwcll, W. G. Pcafce, D. Collis, A., E. Pearce, J. Vincent, F. Penn, S. A. Brondbclt, J. Iv. Ilornblow, H. Smart, Mrs Z. Gill aud Dr. E. G. Wlti taker.

Dr. W. H. Will was temporarily appointed to the position of anaesthetist at. the hospital till* the end of the year.

Air J. B. Finlay wrote offering to deliver lectures in Palmerston under the auspices of tho Board, concerning arrangements for the possible recrudescence of tlie epidemic.—lt was decided to write stating that the Board had already made arrangements as suggested by tho letter, and to forward the letter to tho Levin, Foxton, Otaki and Fcilding local bodies for their consideration. The Minister of Public Health in response to the Board's proposal for a conference of Hospital Boards, wrote stating that the question of a uniform scale of salaries throughout the Dominion was beiDg considered. It. was considered that tho time was not yet opportune for the proposed conference, as matters of policy in regard to hospital administration might in tho near future be very much revolutionised as the result of war experience.—In accordance with a notice of motion by Dr. Whitaker, it was decided that representatives of neighbouring Hospital Boards such as Wanganui, Waipawa and New Plymouth.; 1 ii2_sskcd to meet the rcprescnta.Uvionf of the Palmerston Board in informal discussion with a view to ascertaining whether it is possible to coordinate any methods of economy in administration consistent, with an efficient and increased benefit to the public.
