Tthen the morning down train from Palzaerson North was drawing into the Shannon railway station yesterday a waggon left the rails, this being due, it is thought, to a defect in the wheels*. One fell right alongside the rail s, its wheels crashing through the sides of the first
carriage (a first-class smoker), which ploughed deeply into the metal, ran off the'rails,-and listed threateningly. Fortunately no one was seriously injured, though several were badly shaken. The trucks were very badly smashed up, and it was most fortunate that more damage was rot done . The passengers by the early up and down trains enanged train* at Shannon. and got away after about an hoar aud a half’s delay.
