THE LICENSING POLL.

THREE PUBLIC MEETINGS AT OTAKI. The Prohibitionists arc working hard in their campaign in connection with the forthcoming licensing pool, on April loth, and every opportunity is being taken to discuss the question publiely. The N.Z. Alliance has arranged- forMrs A. E. Atkinson and Mr K. J. Denton, both of Wellington, to give a series of public addresses at Olaki. On Friday next. 2Sth inst., these speakers will deal with "Prohibition and Efficiency"; on Sunday, 30th inst., "The Moral Aspect"; and on Wednesday of next week, April 2nd, "The Economical. Aspect." Mrs Atkinson is a particularly fine speaker, who has done much platform work in Wellington and elsewhere, while Mr Denton is also a keen, logical advocate of the Prohibition cause. Seeing the exceptional interest that is betaken in the poll, there should be good attendances at all these meetings, which will be held at Brights' Theatre, Otaki. Admission will be free, but a collection will be taken up in each instance.
