FLOWER SHOW.
A PINE DISPLAY. The Horowhcnua Horticultural and Industrial Society's Autumn Show ia being held at the Otaki Town Hall today. The display, on tbo whole, in an excellent one, though some classes arc poorly patronised—notably the fruit : and decorative divisions. On the other hand, the vegetables make a grand show, and are both numerous and good, whilo the cut blooms make a fine array, A feature of the Show are the spe-s cial exhibits made by Mr Shuiler, the well-known Palmerston North nurseryman; Mr Westbury (Lower Hull), and Mr Harold Small (Otaki). These diS' plays are a show in themselves, and are well worth the price charged for admission tp the hall. We strongly recommend every local resident to visit tho show and inspect these highly meritorious displays. The Show will be open this evening from 7 to 10 p.m., and we hope and expect that the public will attend in full muster, and thus encourage the Society, which is doing a most useful work. There ia a sweets stall, and refreshment room at the Show, while guessing competitions add to the enjoyment. At the close of the show there will be a sale of vegetables, fruit, etc., tho proceeds to go to the Society's funds. The full prize list will be published in our next issue, I
