FORTNIGHTLY STOCK SALE STEADY MARKET The New Zealand Loan ami Mercantile Agency Co. Ltd. reports as follows; We report having held our regular stock sale yesterday, when there was a large -yarding of sheep consisting mainly of 2th. wethers. Buyers were present from outside districts resulting in a steady demand being maintained throughout the sale. Two-tooth ewes wclc keenly sought after but as in other districts these were in short supply. A good yarding of cattle also demanded keen competition. Good quality beef cattle advancing on late rates. Prices realised :
Sheep. —Fat 4th. wethers, to 38s Gd ; good 2th. wethers, 31s 9d to 32s 9d; medium 2th, wethers, 30s 3d to 30s lod ; small and inferior, 25s to 28s (3d; medium 2th. ewes, 39s to £2 Is 3d.
Cattle.—Fat P.A. bullocks, to £2O; fat P.A. and Hereford cows, £l4 to £l4 355; 3-year P.A. and Hereford heifers, £ll to £ll 15s; heavy fat Jersey cows, £8 17s (3d to £9 17s 6d; medium fat Jersey cows, £7 5s to £8 10s; good paddock’ cattle and heavy boners, £5 to £7 10s; light, £3 to £4 17s; 2year Jersey heifers, to £7 10s; 1ycar Yearling Shorthorn heifers, to. £7; potter bulls, £4 15s to £lO.
Messrs. Dalgcty and Company Limited report having held their fortnightly stock sale on Thursday when there was a large yarding of sheep consisting mainly of wethers and a medium yarding of cattle.- Buyers were well represented from Whakatane, To Puke, Matjita and our own, district. Our total yarding of over 3000 wethers were all sold under the hammer competition being very keen. Prices realised in comparison with schedule rates were very satisfactory indeed. The bulk of the yarding of sheep left the district. Cattle: -good quality cattle keenly big with steady competition and competed for and sold at late rates, store and boner cattle still meeting with steady competition and realised a price favourable to vendors. Realisations were 4th. wethers, 32s 6d to. 345; 2th. wethers, 32s to 345; small lines of 2nd. grade 2tli. wethers,- 25s 4d to 28s 9d; fat wethers heavy, 38s id to 395; fat ewes, 28s Id. Cattle Section.—Prime heavy Jersey cows, JElo’to £lO ss; prime medium, weight Jersey cows, £8 7s Gd to £8 17s; light Jersey cows, £G 10s to £6 16s; heavy boner cows, £5 10s to £5 19s; light, £4 10s.
