LAND REV A LUAT.LON The past four years Jiuve been busy ones for the staff of the Valuation Department in Gisborne, for practically tlie whole of the Gisborne, East Coast, Opotiki and Wairoa districts have been revalued. A revaluation of the Wairoa Borough is being carried out at present, and when that' task is completed the whole of the 'district under the control of the Gisborne office will have been done since 1936. Air. H. P. Hamilton, Gisborne, commenced the Wairoa revaluation last week. Reviewing the progress made in the revaluation of the district since 1936, Air. J. D. Huteliin..the officer in charge of the department’s Gisborne office, stated that the counties and boroughs under the office’s jurisdiction had been completed in the following order: — 1936. —Alatakaoa and Uawa counties. 1937. Gisborne Borough and Waikolm County. 1938. —Waiapu and Wairoa counties and Opotiki Borough. 1939. Cook and Opotiki counties. The Wairoa Borough wn s the’ only remaining area for revaluation purposes in the present series.
