FINE DISPLAY GIVEN BO IST ERO US CO AI MUON S The Opotiki Rod and Gun Club held a very successful shoot on the club grounds, Hukuwai bill, during the week-end. The weather was overcast with a very tricky, boisterous wind, nevertheless. some very line shooting was witnessed. Special mention can he made of the performance of Leo Parkinson (12yd.) and Joe Bennett cl3.yd.) in. the .I’resident’s Trophy. Both shot the possible, 10 birds, using the first barrel only. J.n the shoot-off-, Joe Bennett won on the twentieth bird. Both these shooters have greatly improved during the season. Following are the results:— Eye-Opener, 0 birds, 18 entries.— Alan Fleming 14 yds., IV. A. Jeplisou 14 yds., Jack Hoss lt> yds., L. T’orrie 13 yds., Walter Semmens 10 yds., and Vic Barton 11 yds. shot the possible and divided. president's Trophy, 10 birds, 17 competitors.—Some very consistent shooting was seen in this event, Leo l’ar kin son 12 yds. and Joe Bennett 13 yds. each broke their 10 birds. Joo Bennett won on the shout off. Black and White Cup and -Miniature, 10 birds.—This event saw a field of 23 shooters, including most of the Bay crack shots. Alan Fleming, 14 yds. (1938 holder), E.Torrie 13 yds., E. Pratt 12 yds., and Walter Scnuneiis Hi yds. shot the possible. A. Fleming repeated his 1938 victory, winning on the 171 h. bird, receiving a vociferous ovation. Aggregate Shoot Handicap, 6 birds. —Jack Ross 10 yds., and E. Tonic 14 yds. shot the possible—all first birds —and divided, J. Rlamiis, “Vaioeka Jack Parkinson and Joe Bennett 'divided second and third stakes.

Trophy, awarded to the competitor with the highest aggregate in events 2. It and 5 was won by Leo. Parkinson.
