Mr. G. A. Eclmoncls of Auckland, is at present holidaying in Opotiki. ******* Miss D. Olsen, Auckland, is at present holidaying in Opotiki, and during her stay will be the guest of Mr. and Mrs. It. Carruthers. * * ***** Mrs. M. A. Clay, of Auckland, is at present spending a holiday in Opotiki mull while here will be the guest of her daughter, Mrs. IV. F. Cresswell. VALEDICTORY EVENING A very pleasant valedictory social, given by the Presbyterian Bible Classes and Choir, and attended by -members of the congregation, was held in St. John's Hall last night, in honour of Miss Eleanor 31 array, who- is shortly, to he married. The hall was tastefully decorated by howls of wattle and iceland poppies. Several musical items were rendered during the evening by IVlcs•damos Dull', T. Fleming and Mr. Holmes, Various games and competitions were also enjoyed. A dainty supper was handed around by the Bible Class boys, after which eulogistic speeches were made by Miss E. !)( bivceuy, .Messrs. Steele, llowland, and Rev. Hampton, concerning Miss Murray's work and Christian service in all departments of the Church. Miss Murray was then asked to open numerous. presents. A bouquet of violets and stuck was presented to the guest of honour, after which Miss -Murray suitably responded. -V very happy evening was brought to a close by the singing oil Auld Lang Syne in the traditional style.
