SERIOUS INJURIES
M'R.-dj AT MATAWAI COLLISION WITH LURRY Serious injuries were suifered on Wednesday afternoon by Sister A. Pritchard, district- nurse at- Alatawai. when her car came into collision with a metal lorry on the ALotuliora quarry roaci. 'J he car in which she was driving was extensively damaged, the windscreen and the forepart cl the hoed doing torn off, the. right-hand door being wrenched . out and thrown at loss the road, and the steering wheel being thrust hack and much distorted 1 by pressure against the untortunnto driver. Those who examined the ear expressed amazement that Sister Pritchard was not killed outright in the collision. 'Hie tray of the metal truck struck the hood ol the car, with such force that the steel was ripped like paper, and crumpled hack to expose completely the driver’s seat.
